Karen Funk, MD, MPP, was born in Princeton, NJ. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Chicago at Illinois and completed her residency in family practice at Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Funk moved to Colorado in 2001 and began work at Clinica in 2004. Dr. Funk came to Clinica because "a community healthcare setting providing care to the underserved is ideal" for her. Her healthcare philosophy is "universal healthcare for all".

Dr. Funk enjoys parenting her three children with her husband, John, doing yoga, hiking, weight- training and cooking.
